If at first you don’t succeed….
Cass here reporting live from my living room with a baby strapped to my chest like a kangaroo – and she’s screaming…loud.
Here’s the thing about drugs: They’re important.
Back when Lexi was born I had a “natural” policy that went like this: Two people made the person that invented the epidural and that’s close enough to natural for me. Bring on the good stuff and don’t hold back.
So if at first you don’t succeed you try until you can’t feel it…and that’s what Pocklock’s anesthesologist learned today. After a second attempt he “nailed” it and now she’s resting comfortably. Thank goodness Mr. Epidural, thank goodness. Here’s hoping for some rest and some pain free deep breaths for Pocklock as she ramps up for the big arrival.
Did I mention that I know Blinkie’s name???? I can be paid off – and I start the bidding at $50.

Okay, can you tell that I’m checking constantly??
Your comment about “natural” made me laugh out loud. I was all about the “natural” childbirth until Pitocin gifted me with contractions 1 minute long, every 30 seconds. Then, I adopted your philosophy and never looked back!!
Crossing fingers for continued painlessness…

My wife got poked MANY times till they finally got it right. Punctured a membrane of some sort, too, as she found out a few days later with the onset of blinding spinal headaches that lasted a week.
I loved the ‘natural’ comment, too.
