Hi Everyone!

We’re finally home and settling in. It has been a wonderful week. Welcoming our daughter into the world has been all consuming. My emotions have been all over the place. EHH has been a fantastic supportive husband and father. I wouldn’t change a thing.

I wanted to thank all of you for your constant words of encouragement and support during Lyla’s birth. Blogging has brought me an incredible sense of friendship from all over; friends I haven’t yet met. Special thanks to Cass for updating Pocklock.com and for forwarding me all of your comments so I could read them on my blackberry and hear you all cheering us on.

The lovely LFM is loving her Godmother role and has stepped up to the plate is every way imaginable. As guilty as I felt for not being able to answer all of your emails and comments or post anything sooner than now, I was comforted knowing that you could get your Lyla fix over at LFM’s flickr stream.

Also, EHH has his own blog and has given me the all-clear to post the link here. He’s thoroughly loving his Daddy role as you can tell by his latest post.

EHH and I are working on Lyla’s labor story together and it will most likely be long and emotionally driven and posted here in parts. I was in active labor for more than 24 hours. I wound up with three epidurals – the last being in preparation for the c-section. I couldn’t feel my legs or wiggle my toes for over 2 hours post surgery. I was shaking too badly to even hold my baby.

Just writing that, the tears in my eyes have welled again. It seems to happen ever so frequently. Last night, I watched Lyla in the swing from across the room and all of a sudden started sobbing. When EHH looked over at me, all I managed to get out before completely breaking down was, “Honey. She’s really here. Our daughter.”

She’s our little miracle:

I have no other details but I’m grabbing this video from LFM’s blog and I have to say she is so precious.

Oh little girl you’re Aunt Cass and everyone on the internet has been praying for your safe arrival and we’re so very happy for your Mommy & Daddy that you are here.  Welcome to the world we wish you every single happiness it has to offer.

Pocklock Update: 9cm so “they” are thinking the pushing will start around 7pm EST.  This will be my last update for Pocklock as we’ll let her and the EHH announce the beautiful baby girl with the sweetest little name.  (I know I had to rub it in.)

While Lexi and I have been waiting all day for Baby Blinkie to  show up I thought about this:  Pocklock’s house is probably quiet right now and maybe I could run away there and no one would notice because it seems that every piece of baby gear that we’ve purchased has the ability to play really bad annoying electronic keyboard sounding music and when you combine that with a baby that’s screaming because you’re blogging rather then walking her around in circles it’s pretty hard to tolerate.  So if you see lights on at Pocklock’s house I’m sure its nothing…it’s definetly not me enjoying a peaceful shower.
