Finally!

After not being able to justify the cost of going to Boston for Memorial Day weekend (Thank you stupid taxes), we were able to swing it for the 4th!

The Fourth of July is my favorite holiday ever. I know there’s no presents, which, man, if there were, I don’t think I could contain myself, but because there are no presents, it means there’s no pressure. No pressure of buying presents. No pressure of receiving presents. No traipsing around from family member to family member to exchange presents. No overeating that lasts an entire month. THIS. Is how holidays should be.

I cannot wait to go away. We’re only going for two nights which will really only give us one full day in the city, but judging by the size of my feet, that will be enough for me. Quite honestly I don’t care if we never leave the hotel room. The point of this trip is to be away. And to do nothing but enjoy the last time it will ever just be the two of us.

The doctor(s) cleared me for the trip. Probably because it’s good for a crazy person to get away from the craziness (ROLLING EYES!). We have the infant seat installed as a precaution. And it’ll also help us learn how to pack the car without just being able to throw shit all over the back seat. I need to be sure I drink a ton, especially since we’ll be outside a lot and rest when I can. I’m so excited to just be going that I have a feeling I’m going to do a lot of just sucking it up so that I can enjoy myself. We’ll be home in time to rest on Sunday before having to go back to work Monday morning (blech).

Cat sitter/house sitter/mail bringer inner is secured. Full tank of gas in the car. Camera’s packed. Departure is right around the corner.
