Awww! Those are such awesome ways to share your news! The guy I was engaged to many many moons ago, when his sisters found out they were pregnant the first time, one was around Fathers Day so she had a "Grandpa" card for her dad, and the other was at Christmas & signed all the gift tags from "A, A & ?" The second time around for both of them, they found out they were both expecting twins, due 3 weeks apart, so mostly they were in such shock they weren't creative. LOL

Love the place-card thing. I don't remember us doing much creative with our announcements. I DO, however, know what holidays are like having to visit three families (my parents were both remarried many years ago). God bless you for having to visit FOUR.

Wait ... I do remember the announcement. Someday I'll blog about why I turned from a Yankee fan to a Red Sox fan, but it's an emotional story, and so far I haven't been able to do it. Suffice to say that my family gave me a lot of crap about it, and were still giving me crap the day we were gathered for my nephew's second birthday in late summer, 2004. It was one of the rare occasions when my two families happened to be in the same house, so that was as good a time as any. After dessert, I stood up, waited to get everyone's attention, and calmly told them there would be another Sox fan in the family. Then I sat down. Took 'em a couple seconds.

awww, this made me cry!
i found out i was pregnant with this baby on the MORNING my son and i were leaving for a trip to arizona...so when we made it down the jetway in phoenix and say grandma lady, sam went running up with a big hug. i told my mother than sam had a secret: he was going to be a big brother!
when sam i got home from our trip, we invited The Mistah's family over for a visit--totally normal since we hadn't had them out for a while. that morning, we'd dressed sam in a special "I'M GOING TO BE A BIG BROTHER" t-shirt. of course, sam was napping when gigi and nonno arrived, so when he woke up we suggested they go in and get him from his crib.
and holy smokes, it was like they were in there for TWENTY FREAKIN' MINUTES. finally, i heard my mother-in-law say "WAIT A MINUTE, WHAT DOES HIS T-SHIRT SAY?"

<em>liz's last blog post..<a href='http://hilaritiesensue.com/blog2/?p=468' rel="nofollow">i am a cranky mess</a></em>
