My First Mother’s Day (Sorta)
Even though this baby hasn’t yet arrived, I had the most amazing day and felt extremely loved by all those near and dear to me.
EHH and I woke up early and while I was reading my Baby Bargains book (thanks to Aardvark!) in bed, he disappeared downstairs for a few minutes and returned with a very adorable card and a baby carriage charm for my Pandora bracelet.
We had plans for brunch with both of our Mom’s so we ate some cereal and headed up to the High School to walk on the track. It was a beautiful morning, breezy, but very sunny and we had a great time strolling along. I walked five whole laps!
After coming home and showering and getting ready for brunch, we walked out to the car only to find the windshield decorated with three cards! The sneaky L’il Foot Family had stopped and dropped three amazing mother’s day cards for me! Even L’il Foot herself smeared her breakfast on the card for me and I knew that little smudge was straight from her heart! I smiled all the way to brunch.
We brought two dozen roses to each of our amazing mother’s complete with cards. They both had gifts for me too! MIL gave me a beautiful plant which I will do my VERY best not to kill and Mom gave me two cute cards and the softest stuffed animal for Blink. SO soft that I just might sleep with it until she arrives!
The food was so incredibly good and my belleh was much bigger when we left than when we got there. I will upload all the pictures tomorrow (including the ones of the before and after shots of the nursery that have been on there for a month). We have cute ones of all the Mom’s (me too!). It really warmed up this afternoon and I was able to wear a cute spaghetti strap sundress!
After we left brunch, my fabulous EHH took me to The Garden Center at Lowes so that I could buy all the plants I wind up replacing at least twice try not to kill all summer and helped me plant everything in our planters in the front and back of the house. I also got two hanging baskets for the front porch and the house looks very spring like! It’s a lot more pleasing to the eye then the dead mums and weeds that were there only yesterday.
EHH cleaned out the bird feeder and replaced it with new food and I’m thinking the cats are going to have a LOT of fun birdwatching tomorrow morning. The visitors have been scarce lately and when he started cleaning it, we figured out why – the food was caked together and smelled awful. I wouldn’t eat at this restaurant! But he cleaned it up really nice and we’re open for business once again!
I hope all of you had similarly amazing days with your families, mom’s and children. Although it was busy I had such a great day and boy I am TIRED! I feel the hours of my day starting to diminish with the weeks of the second trimester. I’m getting tired a LOT faster than I was even a month ago. This must be the beginning of the end…
HOLY CRAP! I’M GONNA BE A MOM!

It is hard work having the belly….glad you had such a fantastic day!

Sounds like you had better weather up north than we did down south. It was 61 and gray in Nashville yesterday.
Sounds like a fabulous day! Happy Mother’s Day! And I agree…it takes much less for me to feel like huffing and puffing these days. I want a nap more often than not (although I never seem to get one).

Just remember, if you have to choose between the baby & the plants, you replace the plants & no one will ask any questions.
I kid, I kid! It must be so weird to stop & realize that you will be someone’s Mommy! Half the time I forget I am what most people consider to be an adult because I still feel like a kid, pretending!
