Top Ten Things I’m Grateful For
Okay. Enough with the depressing, grouchy, hormonal, misery, feel-bad-for-me shit. I’m over writing it which means you were probably over reading it somewhere around January.
Contrary to the content of this blog, I’m not ALWAYS an ungrateful, miserable bitch. I mean, MOSTLY, yes, but not ALWAYS. I actually have many things to smile about. Little things. Somewhat mundane things. And these are the things that matter. (Disclaimer: Because this post is about the little things, I will not be listing out ten family members and/or friends. I love you all and I’m grateful for you all. This goes without typing.)
So I bring you, The Top Ten Things I’m Grateful For (this week, today, this minute):
10. Fruit is Edible Again. Dudes. Long ass winter meant baaaad time for produce. Berries went bad within twenty-four hours of bringing them home. Grapes weren’t as plump or tasty as they should be. It was REALLY difficult to eat somewhat healthy. However, now? MUCH better. And grapefruit? Is. Awesome.
9. Frozen Chocolate. I apologize to you purists out there, but Snickers, Twix, and Milky Ways are FAR better frozen.
8. CBS’s How I Met Your Mother. I don’t watch sitcoms anymore. Except for this one. Because OMG, HA! This is the best half-hour on television. It’s a fantastic break from reality-TV or hour long dramas. If you’re not watching, you’re missing out. However, CBS.com runs some of the eps for free! Go check ‘em out. Also, if you like, Season 1 and Season Two
available on DVD at Amazon.
7. Election Years. Whether you’re Democrat or Republican (I forgive you if you’re the latter), you have to admit, this shit is getting GOOD. The schadenfreude is almost too much! It’s so much drama that even drama thriving individuals such as myself are finding it hard to concentrate! What will happen next? We’ll just have to wait and see!
6. The Wave of Inspiration That Has Just Hit. Let me tell you, if you could see my Drafts right now? You’d be jealous. I have DRAFTS ya’ll. DRAFTS! Real ones! Know what that means? Something other than the same damn header titles you see every time you refresh the page. Prepare. You’ve been warned.
5. The Amazing J Dizzle and his fantastic blog design and technological skills. If you’re reading in a reader, click-thru now! OhHAI! It’s SPRING around here! Thank GOD. I’m not sure who took this original photo. I might’ve actually been me! I know that it was taken at my FIL’s house because I just don’t have gardens like that, but EHH and I were both screwing around with the camera that day so the actual clicker of the shutter, yeah. Not sure. But. Regardless. PRETTY!
4. The Ability To Have Lazy Days. Don’t worry, all of you omnipotent mommies. I’m WELL aware that these days are numbered. I know that the only way I’ll get a Sunday Afternoon Famous Football/Golf Match/NASCAR Race/Baseball Game/NCAA Championship Nap is if I train my kid to do the same. And I know the chances of that happening are SLIM. So you can stop laughing now. I’m not in denial. I’m aware. So I plan to make the most of the remaining 22 Sundays left in my pregnancy and maximize my Sunday Naps.
3. My amazing husband. I know I wasn’t going to get into specifics regarding people, but he’s seriously so awesome. He’s so patient and calm and understanding with me. He understands my food issues and crankiness. I could go on singing his praises for days. I really am the luckiest pregnant woman alive. (P.S. He read this book, She’s Having a Baby – and I’m Having a Breakdown, and I think it has something to do with it. Pregnant? BUY that book for your husband!)
2. This Pregnancy. Bitching aside, I’m SO excited to finally be pregnant and be having this baby. I have my fears. Who wouldn’t? However, I really, REALLY am thrilled to be here. Thrilled to be carrying this baby. Thrilled to prepare for this huge change that will change me and change every relationship and every day for the rest of my life. I’ve always said I was made for motherhood and I stand by it. This is what I’m meant to do. Nothing has felt more natural since the day we found out and I have a VERY positive outlook that that feeling isn’t going to go anywhere. (SQUEEEE!)
1. Each and Every Single One of YOU! I’m so lucky to have such understanding and supportive bloggy friends. Hearing your experiences and encouragement gets me through my days. My tough days especially. When things get rough, I have this human tendency to wallow and think NO ONE UNDERSTANDS! NO ONE GETS IT! You all get it. You all understand. And you all offer such support and amazing thoughts and I am. Really. Grateful for it. Really. So, Thank You.

I always love “grateful” posts, always makes me want to do my own. (Sadly, other fish to fry at the moment) Just wanted to pipe in and say that I had a MAJOR thing for grapefruit when I was pregnant with my oldest. I would eat it ALL THE TIME. And drink the juice. It was insane. I still love it, but the love has gotten more moderate with age.
Also? I love HIMYM too and I also don’t watch many (any) sitcoms. However, I’m psychotic about drafts. I hate having drafts waiting for me. I feel like they taunt me. So I revel in a clear slate. I’m nuts, I know.

Love the new layout!
On your last bulletin, amen. I was reading Ask Moxie the other day and she was talking about having sounding boards. I totally commented and said my circle was blog-related. Although she was talking about motherhood being lonely, I COMPLETELY remember feeling so isolated during pregnancy. You DO feel like you’re the only one who has gone through it. (But you’re so totally not. Hang in there.)

Those flowers are sooo pretty! And I love the tagline… is it new?
HIMYM is probably one of the best sitcoms ever! LOVE it!
Election years are kind of fun, I just wish the Today Show would talk about something else at least once between 7 and 7:30 a.m. Seriously, not that much changes day-to-day.
Now I want a frozen Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. Thanks.
Have you ever told us how you met your baby daddy? I need help in that area

I gave my husband that book too. But I don’t know if he read it:-)
It’s nice to focus on the good stuff once in a while, isn’t it? I should do that soon!

10. I am so spoiled living down here… It amazes me that we get fresh produce virtually year round. Nothing is worse than paying an astronomical price for something that won’t keep even long enough for you to get it home from the store.
9. Frozen Reese’s. ::drool::
6. Should I challenge you to a blogging duel? Because so far I haven’t found anyone who can keep up with my steady stream of nonsense.
5. Happy Spring!!!
4. Seriously, what is it about a Nascar race that just lulls a girl to sleep?? I cannot stay awake through one. Ever.
2. Awwwww. =)
1. I am grateful that Jenny linked me up to you! Dude, I was missing out!
